Common use of Civic/Community Offices Clause in Contracts

Civic/Community Offices. The District may grant paid or unpaid leaves of absence to bargaining unit members desirous of voluntarily participating in civic or community activities. Such leave requires prior approval of the District even if absence is to be day to day. Activities subject to this provision include, but are not limited to, elected office, state, county, or, city commission appointments, and Grand Jury appointments.
