City’s Right to Suspend for Convenience. The City may, at its sole option and for its convenience, suspend all or any portion of the Design Professional's performance of the Professional Services, for a reasonable period of time not to exceed six months. In accordance with the provisions of this Agreement, the City will give written notice to the Design Professional of such suspension. In the event of such a suspension, in accordance with the provisions of Article III of this Agreement, the City shall pay to the Design Professional a sum equivalent to the reasonable value of the Professional Services the Design Professional has satisfactorily performed up to the date of suspension. Thereafter, the City may rescind such suspension by giving written notice of rescission to the Design Professional. The City may then require the Design Professional to resume performance of the Professional Services in compliance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement; provided, however, that the Design Professional shall be entitled to an extension of time equal to the length of the suspension, unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the Parties.
