Christmas Break. The break between Christmas and New Year’s shall be accountable time for all faculty and shall not require attendance on campus. In areas of the University that must, by the nature of their work, operate on a more or less continuous basis, such as the Libraries, Admissions or Counselling, the administrator responsible on consultation collectively with all available regular and non-regular type 2 members in division, shall recommend to the employer suitable levels of operation to be maintained during this break.

Christmas Break. A Christmas break shall be granted from December 24th through New Year's Day inclusive as a minimum, inclusive of the general (statutory) holidays or days observed in lieu thereof, in accordance with Article 8.2.1.

Christmas Break. The Hospital agrees to schedule a minimum of five (5) consecutive tours off for Registered Nurses during the Christmas or New Years period so that Registered Nurses will have either period off. For the purpose of time off, Christmas shall include December 24, 0730 hrs to December 26, 2330 hrs and New Years shall include December 31, 0730 hrs to January 2, 0730 hrs. The Hospital may waive scheduling requirements during the period from December 15 to January 15. The scheduling of time off at Christmas or New Years shall be done on a nursing unit basis taking into account the registered nurses’ preference. It is expected that registered nurses will alternate working Christmas and New Year’s. Where a dispute arises a registered nurse shall work the opposite period from the last year. When extra time off is available, it shall be offered by seniority to interested registered nurses.
Christmas Break. Employees shall receive time off with pay during that period between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day designated by the Employer as Christmas break. This does not apply to employees who are on leave of absence without pay. Where an employee is required to work during any part of that period between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day designated by the Employer as Christmas break, the employee shall receive equivalent time off without loss of pay.
Christmas Break. 36.01 Yukon University Christmas Break Employees will not be required to report for duty during the Yukon University Christmas Break. This break is comprised of the three (3) working days that fall between December 25 and January 1. This period of leave shall not be deducted from the employee’s respective earned but unused Vacation Leave credits. Notwithstanding the foregoing, some payroll and some custodial staff may be required to report for work during this break. Employees so scheduled will be given compensatory time off for such time worked. Any part-time employee whose hours of work are increased at the direction of the Employer to full-time hours for the two (2) weeks immediately prior to the Christmas break and the two (2) weeks immediately following the Christmas break shall receive the applicable full-time rate of pay, based on applicable full-time hours, for the three (3) working days that fall between December 25 and January 1.
