Change in Basic Assignment. 5.3.1 Consistent with section 45137 of the Education Code, any unit member who works a minimum of thirty (30) minutes per day in excess of his or her regular part-time assignment for a period of twenty (20) consecutive working days or more shall have his/her basic assignment changed to reflect the longer hours in order to acquire fringe benefits on a prorated basis pursuant to section 45136. This does not waive the Parties right to negotiate over increase of hours.

Change in Basic Assignment. 6.4.1 The District may request a regular employee to add time to his/her work day through the acceptance of substitute or short term assignments or duties. A reasonable attempt will be made to offer additional time by seniority in the same classification at that site on a rotational basis. 6.4.2 An employee who works beyond thirty (30) minutes a day in excess of his or her part time assignment, for a period of twenty(20) or more work days in any 60 calendar day period shall be entitled to the fringe benefits provided by the District and statute on a pro- rated basis consistent with the increase in time actually worked. This can include vacation, sick leave and the District’s benefit allotment (if applicable).
