Common use of Certification Premium Pay Clause in Contracts

Certification Premium Pay. A nurse certified in a specialty area by a national nursing organization and working in the area of the certification shall be paid a premium of one dollar ($1.00) per hour, provided the particular certification has been approved by the Vice President of Nursing Care Services (or designee), and the Hospital determines that the nurse continues to meet all educational and other requirements to keep the certification current and in good standing. A nurse is eligible for only one (1) certification premium, regardless of the number of certifications the nurse may have. Such certification pay will be effective the first (1st) full pay period after the date a copy of the original documentation is received by the Hospital’s Human Resources Department. (Each nurse is responsible to take steps to maintain such certification and document such to the Hospital’s satisfaction.)
