Certificate Pay. (1) Each Officer holding an Intermediate TCOLE Certificate shall be paid fifty dollars ($50.00) per month. Each Officer holding an Advanced TCOLE Certificate shall be paid one hundred dollars ($100.00) per month. Each Officer holding a Master TCOLE Certificate shall be paid one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) per month.

Certificate Pay. Employees shall receive special compensation of $75/month for each certificate the employee obtains that is above the minimum requirements of their job classification, up to two certificates ($150/mo.). As a condition of receiving certificate pay, the employee may be required to meet certain minimum requirements for their jobs. These requirements must be met before certificate pay can be received. Please see Exhibit “A” for minimum certificates for jobs. In order to receive consideration for certificate pay, an employee must notify the District that they have obtained a qualifying certificate by completing a form provided by the District. Except for employees on probation, payment will commence in the payroll period immediately following such notification. For employees on probation, either due to being a new hire or recently promoted/demoted, the certificate pay will commence in the pay period following their successful completion of probation. A non-exclusive list of pre-approved certificates is available from the Human Resources Department and attached hereto as Exhibit “A”. For certificates not included on the pre-approved list, a form is available for the employee to obtain prior approval of the eligibility of a certificate. The form requires a brief description of the program, the requirements to obtain the certificate and applicability to the District. The proposed certificate must be approved in advance by the employee’s Department Head. An employee will have the opportunity to discuss the program to obtain approval with the Department Head, however, the District’s decision with respect to certificate eligibility shall be final, and not subject to grievance or any appeal.
Certificate Pay. Certificate Bonus Pay shall be eliminated for City Hall employees, except that those employees currently receiving such pay shall continue to receive it so long as the certificate continues to be relevant to the employee's job duties and responsibilities. The decision of the Department Head on relevancy is final and is not subject to the grievance procedures.
Certificate Pay. Intermediate and Advanced POST Certification Pay The parties agree to meet three (3) months after City Council approval of this MOU to discuss and exchange proposals relating to Intermediate and Advanced POST Certification pay.
Certificate Pay. The maximum incentive an employee may earn is 2.5% of base salary regardless of the number of certificates earned/acquired. Mechanics possessing an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification through the National Institute shall be eligible for Certificate Pay at the rate of 2.5% of base salary payable on a biweekly basis. To be eligible for this benefit, certifications must be related to the employee’s current job classification/job performance and must be approved, in advance, by the Department Director. Certificate Pay shall cease if employee’s certification expires and is not renewed or if the employee changes job classification and the certificate is no longer job related.
Certificate Pay. Effective in the first full pay period of July 2018, employees in the classifications of Parks and Maintenance Worker and Lead Parks and Maintenance Worker who possess a current Certified Pest Control Applicator Certificate shall receive $50 per month in certificate pay. Employees in the classifications of Parks and Maintenance Worker and Lead Parks and Maintenance Worker who possess a current Backflow Tester Certification Certificate shall receive $50 per month in certificate pay.
Certificate Pay. Employees shall receive additional compensation as a percentage of their base pay for obtaining the following certificates issued by the California Fire Service Training and Education System: Compensation Certificate 5% Company Officer Certificate/Fire Officer Certificate OR 10% Chief Fire Officer Certificate/Chief Officer The applicable pay shall commence on the first of the month following submission of written proof to the Fire Chief that the employee has obtained the appropriate certificate.

Certificate Pay. The City will implement a five percent (5%) certification pay for state issued licenses or certificates related to the position provided it benefits the job and the City. It is expressly understood that positions and assignments eligible for pay will be determined solely at the discretion of the City Manager. If any of the certificates, licenses and/or registrations are identified by the City to be minimum qualifications on the adopted job classifications, premium pay for that particular certificate, license and/or registration shall not be paid. The City will pay for certification, license, or registration renewals currently required by the City as minimum qualifications on the City’s adopted job classifications or on certifications, licenses and/or registrations approved for Certificate Pay as identified above.
