Each operator want- ing to ‘‘CANCEL’’ a previous report may do so by sending a revised mes- sage, and inserting the word ‘‘CAN- CEL’’ in front of the previous report’s vessel name, IRCS, date, time and ac- tion code canceled (action code ‘‘CAN- CEL’’). The message must be trans- mitted and delivered prior to the date and time of the event in the original message.
