California Civil Code Section 1542 and Related Statutes. Adeza and Matria each understand, and for valuable consideration do hereby waive, all of the rights and benefits they may have under Section 1542 of the California Civil Code, which section reads as follows: "A GENERAL RELEASE DOES NOT EXTEND TO CLAIMS WHICH THE CREDITOR DOES NOT KNOW OR SUSPECT TO EXIST IN HIS FAVOR AT THE TIME OF EXECUTING THE RELEASE, WHICH IF KNOWN BY HIM MUST HAVE MATERIALLY AFFECTED THIS SETTLEMENT WITH THE DEBTOR;" along with all rights and benefits they may have under analogous provisions of the laws of the State of Georgia.
