Blinding concrete Sample Clauses
The 'Blinding concrete' clause specifies the use of a thin layer of low-strength concrete, known as blinding, placed over the prepared sub-base before the main structural concrete is poured. This layer serves to provide a clean, level, and stable surface, protecting the underlying material from contamination and preventing the loss of cement or water from the main concrete mix. By doing so, the clause ensures the quality and integrity of the structural concrete, reduces the risk of contamination, and facilitates accurate placement and finishing of the main concrete works.
Blinding concrete. No casting of any concrete on the ground shall take place until the ground has been passed as satisfactory by the Architect. All ground to carry reinforced concrete shall be covered with a blinding layer of concrete 1:10 of the thickness shown on the drawings, or if not so shown, a minimum of 50 mm.
Blinding concrete. Blinding concrete (mud mat) shall be Class C20 concrete and shall be as specified and not less than 75mm thick. In aggressive soil conditions Class C25 concrete shall be used for blinding (Reference should be made to the Soil Investigation Report).
Blinding concrete. 1. Blinding concrete shall be placed immediately following final preparation of the ground. It shall be laid with a finish which will prevent the loss of fines from the structural concrete.
