Common use of BIRTHING CENTER Clause in Contracts

BIRTHING CENTER. A Facility which mainly provides care and treatment for women during uncomplicated pregnancy, routine full-term delivery, and the immediate post-partum period. It must: provide full-time Skilled Nursing Care by or under the supervision of Xxxxxx; be staffed and equipped to give emergency care; and have written back-up arrangements with a local Hospital for emergency care. It must: carry out its stated purpose under all relevant state and local laws; or be approved for its stated purpose by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Care; or be approved for its stated purpose by Medicare. A Facility is not a Birthing Center, for the purpose of this Contract, if it is part of a Hospital.
