BIM. The following is applicable if the Project will be designed using Building Information Modeling (”BIM”). BIM’s intent is to assist the Client’s and the design teams’ understanding and coordination of the design, but it may not necessarily result in savings for Client or reduce or eliminate change orders or construction coordination issues. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ recommends that Client maintain a reasonable contingency in the estimate and budget for design errors or omissions and design coordination change orders. In the event of an error or omission in the services, Client agrees to give prompt written notice to ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, and ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ agrees at no additional cost to Client to design, document and process corrective measures. There are no representations or expectations regarding BIM, except as provided in this Agreement. A.3.13.1 BIM produced by ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and any ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Consultants are for design intent only and are not intended to be used for construction coordination, fabrication, estimating, quantity takeoffs, sequencing or other construction purposes. BIM models may be developed to various levels of detail (e.g. LOD 100, 200, or 300). The level of development of the model shall be defined between the parties. BIM also allows “clash detection” to show interferences with the design. If clash detection is provided specific parameters for clash detection shall be defined by ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ which may include interference distances, materials or systems between which clash detection is to be performed, frequency and level of design completion at which clash detection will be performed.
BIM. 9.01 See requirements of Appendix F BIM.
BIM. The Owner may require the use of building information modeling (BIM) processes and technologies, in whole or in part, in the design and construction of the Project. The parameters, standards and technological requirements for such approach shall be established as an addendum to this Agreement and, to the extent required, to those of Consultants, Subcontractors and Separate Contractors of any tier. The Design/Builder is not precluded, and may use BIM processes and technologies, in whole or in part, at no additional cost to the Owner. Unless otherwise provided in such addendum, each BIM model shall be deemed an Instrument of Service.
BIM. The Construction Manager shall assist the Owner and Architect in establishing building information modeling and digital data protocols for the Project and shall assist the Project Team to establish the protocols for the development, use, transmission, and exchange of digital data.
BIM. The ARCHITECT and their consultant shall assist the DISTRICT in updating the BIM Standards to a level of current industry practices and validate modeling progress of Design- Build Entity throughout the project.
BIM. Building Information Modeling. The digital or electronic representation of the project model and includes the process to create the model.
BIM. The ARCHITECT uses building information modeling software (“BIM”) as its primary production tool for internal design, coordination, and documentation. The ARCHITECT’s Services do not include any intended use of the BIM for the Owner or any third parties (including but not limited to the Contractor) which may include, but is not limited to, quantity takeoffs, construction estimation, construction sequencing or phasing, clash detection, shop drawings, site safety, operations and maintenance, building automation systems, existing conditions modeling, digital fabrication, prefabrication, as-constructed record modeling, or asset management. BIM. Owner may require the use of building information modeling (BIM) processes and technologies, in whole or in part, in the design and construction of a Project as indicated in a Release. If a BIM is required, in the Conceptual Design Phase, Contractor shall assist A/E in developing a BIM Execution Plan based on Owner’s current BIM Execution Plan template, in consultation with Owner and others as required by Owner. Contractor shall perform the Services in accordance with the accepted BIM Execution Plan and Owner’s CAD & BIM Guidelines.
