Backup Process. Prevalent implements a comprehensive backup and recovery process that is most frequently referred to as a Grandfather, Father, Son retention and rotation schedule. More specifically, snapshots of the data (“Snapshots”) are performed every 8 hours, those Snapshots are stored for 7 days; the last Snapshot for each day is retained for 30 days; the last Snapshot for each week is retained for 90 days; and Monthly Snapshots are taken and retained for 7 years.
