Assignment to Extended Work Week Schedules. Each Director or Manager shall, within each of his/her departments, sections, areas, or teams, and consistent with normal organizational alignment, formulate a set of rules governing the assignment of employees to Extended Work Week Schedules. These rules, so far as may be practicable and consistent with the efficient performance of work to be done, shall be reasonable and shall distribute assignments to Extended Work Week Schedules equally among the employees in their respective classifications normally performing the same types of work in each assigned plant, crew, or work area. The rules shall provide for rotation of Extended Work Week Schedules among all employees, and for the preference of volunteers over required scheduling. Any violation of the rules required by this provision shall be remedied in accordance with the provisions of the applicable rules. Any substantive amendments to the rules shall be furnished to the Union forty-five (45) calendar days prior to the intended date of implementation.
