An Amorous Relationships Statement is a clause that sets out the organization's policy regarding romantic or sexual relationships between individuals within the workplace or institution. Typically, it requires employees or members to disclose such relationships, especially when there is a direct reporting line or power imbalance, and may outline steps to manage potential conflicts of interest, such as reassigning supervisory duties. When those in authority abuse or appear to abuse their power in a relationship, trust and respect in the College community are diminished. Moreover, others who believe they are treated/evaluated unfairly because of such a relationship may make claims of harassment. In the event of an amorous relationship, I understand I may be reassigned or relocated to a new community.
