Alternative Programs Sample Clauses

The "Alternative Programs" clause establishes the option for parties to implement different methods or procedures than those originally specified in the agreement. In practice, this clause allows for the substitution of certain processes, services, or deliverables with approved alternatives, provided they meet agreed-upon standards or objectives. Its core function is to introduce flexibility, enabling parties to adapt to changing circumstances or to utilize improved solutions without breaching the contract.
Alternative Programs. The District supports a variety of alternative programs to meet the needs of parents and students. These programs are staffed by certificated employees under this Agreement. All provisions of this Agreement apply to these to the employees who staff these alternative programs except where designated below.
Alternative Programs. Alternative instructors shall be responsible for the complete program of student instruction. The instructional day shall not total less than 20 hours per week, excluding lunch, and shall include some additional activities of an instructional or other nature as deemed appropriate by the instructor. Alternative instructors shall be held accountable for improvements in attendance, discipline and achievement. The Board shall provide for the establishment of budget-based Alternative programs that shall meet the following criteria: Each program shall enroll a minimum of 20 students per FTE teacher. Alternative programs that enroll 20 students shall have a supplemental budget of $11,000 to be used for extended time, supplemental personnel, supplemental materials and student activities. Alternative programs that enroll 30 students shall have a supplemental budget of $33,000 to be used for extended time, supplemental personnel, supplemental materials and student activities. The building principal and/or counselor shall refer students to the Alternative teacher for placement in the program. After the Alternative teacher reviews and evaluates student records, the teacher shall select students for appropriate placement in the program. If the student fails to meet the program expectations, he/she shall be placed back in the regular school setting. Any student in an Alternative program shall exhibit at least one of the following characteristics: ● Absence of more than twenty percent of previous semester ● Failure to pass more than one academic course in pervious semester
Alternative Programs. A. Alternative programs, programs that offer a new approach to educational delivery, shall be presented to the Educational Council. Examples of Alternative Programs include, but are not limited to: Partnership Academy, Interdisciplinary Learning Teams, World Studies and American Studies. B. Alternative education program assignments shall adhere to the following guidelines: 1) All open positions in the programs shall be posted in the Deans’ of Instruction offices as well as in departmental offices. 2) Staffing of alternative education program assignments shall be voluntary and shall adhere to the following guidelines: a. If there are an insufficient number of volunteers to run the program, the least senior teacher shall be assigned. b. If more than the required number of teachers apply, positions will be filled by the most senior teacher. c. Every attempt shall be made to staff alternative programs with volunteers. d. No teacher who chooses to leave an alternative education program at the end of a year will be penalized. e. When an alternative education program ceases to run teachers shall be returned to regular classes, not extra duty positions. f. Where possible, a lead teacher shall be used as a facilitator instead of an administrator. 3) The existing contract in its entirety shall apply to an alternative education program and the teachers who are a part of those programs.

Alternative Programs. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 1 above, which provides for health care coverage, the Union agrees that the Employer may offer alternative health care coverage programs during the terms of this agreement. The terms and conditions of such alternative programs shall be determined by the Employer. The cost and/or terms and conditions of said programs shall be at the discretion of the Employer and may be subject to change. In the event of changes in the cost and/or terms of such alternative programs, affected employees may withdraw from said program and shall be entitled to the benefits described in Section 1 above.
Alternative Programs. Bargaining unit members not currently assigned to Alternative Programs (PACT and Dual Immersion) may only be transferred into these programs by mutual agreement.
Alternative Programs. The parties shall establish a Design Committee which will plan in-school and alternative school programming for students who are chronically disruptive and/or exhibit behaviors that threaten the health and safety of others. The Superintendent and the Union President shall co-chair the committee. The committee shall make recommendations to the Board no later than March 1, 2005. The implementation of alternative programs based on the recommendations of the design committee shall commence no later than September 2006.
