Afternoon and Night Shift Allowances. 6.2.2(a) An employee whilst on afternoon or night shift shall be paid for such shift 15 per cent more than his or her ordinary rate. 6.2.2(b) An employee who works on an afternoon or night shift which does not continue: (i) for at least five successive afternoon or night shifts or six successive afternoon or night shifts in a six day workshop (where no more than eight ordinary hours are worked on each shift); or (ii) for at least 38 ordinary hours (where more than eight ordinary hours are worked on each shift and the shift arrangement is in accordance with subclauses 6.1.2 or 6.1.3); 6.2.2(c) An employee who: (i) During a period of engagement on shift, works night shift only; or (ii) Remains on night shift for a longer period than four consecutive weeks; or (iii) Works on a night shift which does not rotate or alternate with another shift or with day work so as to give him or her at least one third of his or her working time off night shift in each shift cycle;

Afternoon and Night Shift Allowances. 39.2.1 An Employee whilst on afternoon shall be paid for such shift an additional fifteen percent (15%). 39.2.2 Night shift allowance Any night shift which alternates with any day or afternoon shift will be paid an additional 22.5% of their ordinary rate whilst working ordinary hours.

Afternoon and Night Shift Allowances. In addition to the rate of pay prescribed by Schedule 10 of this Agreement, employees whilst engaged on afternoon shift and night shift, shall be paid an additional penalty rate for each such shift as follows:– (i) Afternoon Shift - 11%; (ii) Night Shift – 13%.

(v) All time worked by a shift worker in excess of the ordinary hours will be paid for at double ordinary time (exclusive of shift penalties). (vi) Shifts will rotate regularly. The company may stagger start times of work groups within ordinary hours to meet operational requirements. Where work commences and finishes within the ordinary span of hours it is considered day work. (vii) An employee will be given 48 hours' notice prior to the altering of a rostered shift. By mutual agreement between an employee and the employer, shorter notice may be given. (viii) An employee who is required to change shifts during any week will be paid an additional $5.25 for each change, but not for the change back to their rostered shift. (ix) Despite any other provision of this Agreement, a grade 1 employee (other than a casual employee) who works an afternoon shift that finishes after 12am and at or before 2am shall be paid for such shift 30 per cent more than his or her ordinary rate.

Works on a night shift which does not rotate or alternate with another shift or with day work so as to give him or her at least one third of his or her working time off night shift in each shift cycle; shall, during such engagement, period or cycle, be paid 30 percent more than his or her ordinary rate for all time worked during ordinary working hours on such night shift.

(b) An employee who works on an afternoon or night shift which does not continue: (i) for at least five successive afternoon or night shifts or six successive afternoon or night shifts in a six day workshop (where no more than eight ordinary hours are worked on each shift); or (ii) for at least 38 ordinary hours (where more than eight ordinary hours are worked on each shift and the shift arrangement is in accordance with clauses 22.1 or 22.3), shall be paid for each shift 50 percent for the first three hours and 100 percent for the remaining hours, in addition to his or her Ordinary Time Rate of Pay and foundry allowance. (iii) An employee who: (A) during a period of engagement on shift, works night shift only; or (B) remains on night shift for a longer period than four consecutive weeks; or (C) works on a night shift which does not rotate or alternate with another shift or with day work so as to give him or her at least one third of his or her working time off night shift in each shift cycle, shall, during such engagement, period or cycle, be paid 30 per cent more than his or her Ordinary Time Rate of Pay for all time worked during ordinary working hours on such night shift.
