Common use of Adjunct Faculty Workload Clause in Contracts

Adjunct Faculty Workload. Adjunct faculty may teach up to a maximum of nine (9) credit hours in the Fall and Spring semesters and six (6) in the Summer, if courses are available. The University, in its sole discretion, may consider a request by the relevant ▇▇▇▇ that an adjunct faculty member go above these maximum amounts in a particular semester or the Summer. No adjunct may teach more than twenty-four (24) credits per year. Except in cases of academic necessity, no adjunct or overload teaching hours will be made available until workload requirements of full-time faculty are met.
