Common use of ACTING Clause in Contracts

ACTING. A Shift Engineer who is assigned to perform the role of Acting Chief Operating Engineer shall be paid a premium of fifteen percent (15%) above their normal rate. Non-voluntary assignment of Acting Chief Operating Engineer duties will only be assigned if there are no qualified volunteers. Written notification of the employee assigned to perform the role of Acting Chief Operating Engineer shall be given to the employee and the Principal ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. “Shift Engineers who are assigned the role of Acting Chief Operating Engineer are required to be On Call and become eligible to receive On Call premium as follows: • $15.00 per weekday (Monday to Friday) and $35.00 per weekend day (Saturday and Sunday). The on call premium is to compensate employees who may be required to support critical functions and be on call on their scheduled time off.
