Acres Burned Clause Samples
The "Acres Burned" clause defines how the number of acres affected by fire is measured and reported under an agreement. Typically, this clause specifies the method for calculating the total area burned, such as using satellite imagery, official fire reports, or on-the-ground surveys, and may set out who is responsible for making the determination. Its core function is to provide a clear, objective standard for quantifying fire damage, which is essential for triggering contractual obligations like insurance payouts, liability assessments, or performance metrics.
Acres Burned. Costs are shared based on the acreage percentage of the fire within an agency’s DPA. This method is used when agencies’ responsibilities, objectives, and suppression costs are similar.
