Accelerometer. Three pressure transducers were also used to verify the blast pressures calculated by various computer programs. They were placed 18 feet from the center of the charge and were pointed directly towards it. This distance was selected based on the measurement range of the transducers and the maximum pressure that they would see during the largest blast. Each transducer was mounted in a pipe, embedded in the ground, and covered with a sandbag to ensure no movement occurred. Figure 4.7 shows one of the pressure transducers. Finally, a video camera was placed at a safe distance on top of a berm to record each blast.
