Common use of Academic Year Appointments Clause in Contracts

Academic Year Appointments. During an academic year appointment, faculty members shall be assigned no more than a thirty (30) credit hour adjusted workload. The usual and customary instructional workload will be twenty-four (24) adjusted credit hours per academic year contract except as may otherwise be required by appropriate College accrediting bodies (recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation) or applicable state regulations. An instructional workload range of 11-13 credit hours may be assigned per semester. Upon mutual agreement of the faculty member and ▇▇▇▇, instructional hours can be assigned during the fall and spring semesters in excess of 13 credit hours without triggering overload obligations.
