Academic Progress Rate. To the extent permitted by law and in the absence of any adverse impact on any University program, Coach will be eligible to receive academic incentives payments based on the single-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) of the football team. The APR rates measured will be based on the following schedule: Year 1 2024-25 academic year APR APR Issued June 2026 Year 2 2025-26 academic year APR APR issued June 2027 Year 3 2026-27 academic year APR APR issued June 2028
Academic Progress Rate. Academic Progress Rate. A maximum of one (1) of the following (payment based on highest goal achieved in this subsection):
(a) Single year APR or four year APR of 985 or greater $100,000
(b) Single year APR or four year APR of 945 or greater $50,000 Annual incentive compensation due under Sections 2.3.1-2.3.4 shall be paid by the University on or before March 1 following the conclusion of the football season in which the goal was achieved. Annual incentive compensation due under Section 2.3.5 shall be paid by the University on or before June 30 following the NCAA’ s publication of APR scores. Annual incentive compensation described in this Section 2.3 shall be earned by and payable to Coach only if Coach is employed as the Head Football Coach on the day of the event that forms the basis for the incentive compensation. Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary, however, the University shall not be obligated to pay any incentive compensation to Coach, and Coach shall be obligated to reimburse any incentive compensation that he has already received (or the University may deduct such amounts from future payments owed to Coach), if Coach or any member of the football program that reports to him, either directly or indirectly, is found by the NCAA to have committed a Level I or Level II infraction during the time period in which the incentive compensation was otherwise earned. Except as revised by Amendment Number 1, Amendment Number 2, and this Amendment Number 3, the Employment Agreement remains in full force and effect.
Academic Progress Rate. “APR”). In any year during the Term in which the single-year APR for the Program reported by the University to the NCAA equals or exceeds 975 while Coach serves as Head Coach, Coach will receive additional compensation in the form of a bonus of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000). Any amount under this subsection shall be earned on the date of the NCAA’s final notice that the University has completed its submission of APR data to the NCAA and paid within seventy-five (75) days following that date.
Academic Progress Rate. This year was the first time in five years the academic progress rate did not increase and the first time in four years that the first to second year retention rate decreased. While this was unexpected, FGCU has recently implemented a number of strategies that should bear fruit in the coming year. Some of these (recruitment and academic support of better-prepared students, greater admissions selectivity) complement ongoing strategies to improve first-year retention.
Academic Progress Rate. With respect to each academic year of the University in which Coach coaches the Team as its head coach for the entire season (including tournament games) during that academic year, Coach shall earn and be paid $50,000 if the Team’s single year academic progress rate, as calculated by the NCAA (“APR”), is equal to or greater than 950. This bonus shall be paid within 30 days after the APR for the relevant academic year is determined, provided that Coach continues to be employed and actively performing his duties as head coach of the Team on the date the APR is determined. In the event that the NCAA subsequently recalculates the APR in a manner that results in a bonus previously paid no longer being warranted, Coach shall return any such bonus to the Employer upon demand.
