Career Transition Assistance. Section 1. Unless otherwise specified in this Agreement the Agency will provide career transition assistance in accordance with Human Resource Policy Manual, EMP-1.22 (Career Transition Program), to all employees who have received a FAA reduction-in-force (RIF) separation notice or who have been separated through RIF procedures in the FAA (displaced employees) as well as to employees who are likely to face displacement through anticipated FAA RIF or internal reorganization/realignment to a different position (surplus employees).

Career Transition Assistance. The Company will pay for executive-level career transition services for you with its outplacement services provider for up to 12 months, subject to its normal outplacement services program. If you wish to initiate career transition services, you must do so within 60 days of your Separation Date by calling 0-000-000-0000, ext. 888 or go to xxx.xxx.xxx/xxxxxxxx.  The Salary Continuation Payments and Target Bonus will be aggregated as a single sum and paid in 24 equal semi-monthly installments, starting on the first practicable regularly scheduled pay date after the Effective Date (defined in paragraph 18 below).  Except as otherwise expressly specified in this Agreement, the compensation set forth in paragraph 2 above represents all of the amounts you will be entitled to receive from the Company and you will not be paid any other compensation or benefits. In addition to any other remedies which may be available at law, the Company may suspend, cancel and/or seek the refund of any payments contemplated by this Agreement upon any violation by you of any representation, warranty or covenant set forth herein. 
Career Transition Assistance. A career transition assistance firm selected and paid for by an Employer shall provide career transition assistance. An Eligible Employee must begin the available career transition assistance services within sixty (60) days following his/her Severance Date. Subject to the limitations set forth above, career transition assistance shall be provided in accordance with the following table, provided that, to the extent these programs are not available following the Effective Date, substantially comparable career transition assistance shall be provided: Employment Classification Career Transition Services Band I QuickLaunch or reasonably equivalent program. Band II One month Powerstart Program or reasonable equivalent. Band III Three-month executive program. Band IV Six-month executive program. Band V Nine-month executive program. Band VI Twelve-month executive program. Bands VII and higher Twelve-month Key Executive Program.
Career Transition Assistance. ‌ 211. At the time the employee is offered a voluntary redundancy or as soon as possible thereafter but, in any event, no later than four weeks after the voluntary redundancy offer, excess employee(s) will be offered career transition assistance which will include: • advice on the re-assignment and redundancy process • a point of contact for individual queries • assistance with identifying re-assignment opportunities and/or • training/redeployment assistance. 212. Employees may also access the Department’s Employee Assistance Program for free personal counselling. Voluntary redundancy process‌ 213. If an employee accepts an offer of voluntary redundancy, and the Secretary agrees to the redundancy, the Secretary will issue a ‘notice of termination’ under section 29 of the PS Act. 214. The period of notice will be four weeks, or five weeks for an employee over 45 years of age with at least five years of continuous, current APS service at the time of the offer. Where an employee elects to terminate their employment before the expiration of the notice period, payment in lieu for the unexpired portion of the notice period will be made.

Voluntary Termination Process If an employee accepts an offer of voluntary termination, and the Chief Executive Officer agrees to the termination, the Chief Executive Officer will issue a “notice of termination” under section 29 of the Public Service Act. The period of notice will be four weeks, or five weeks for an employee over 45 years of age with at least five years of continuous, current APS service at the time of the offer. Where an employee elects to terminate their employment before the expiration of the notice period, payment in lieu for the unexpired portion of the notice period will be made. Notice of termination will not be given before the end of the discussion and consideration period without the agreement of the employee. Only one offer of voluntary termination will be made to an employee in an excess or potentially excess situation. Job swaps will be available until the end of the period for discussion and consideration of voluntary termination where an employee who is excess but does not want a voluntary termination, swaps jobs with an employee from within the Agency or from another agency who is not excess but who wants voluntary termination. Job swaps are subject to the Chief Executive Officer’s approval on a case by case basis. Severance Pay An employee who accepts voluntary termination and whose employment is terminated under section 29 of the Public Service Act on the grounds that they are excess to requirements will be entitled to the following severance pay, subject to any minimum amount the employee is entitled to under the NES: two weeks’ salary for each completed continuous year of service; and a pro-rata payment for completed continuous months of service since the last completed year of service. the minimum amount of severance pay is an amount equal to four weeks’ salary and the maximum amount payable is an amount equal to 48 weeks’ salary. Career Transition Assistance. The Company will pay for executive‑level career transition assistance services for you with the Company’s outplacement services provider (or other provider designated by you and approved in writing by the Company) for a period of up to 12 months and at a cost not to exceed $65,000 If you wish to initiate career transition services, you must do so no later than 12 months after your Separation Date.
Career Transition Assistance. The Company will provide Employee with three (3) months of executive-level career transition assistance services (“Transition Assistance”) by a firm selected by the Company (including an aggregate cost), provided that such Transition Assistance is commenced by Employee no later than sixty (60) days following the Termination Date. The Company will begin paying for Transition Assistance on the sixtieth (60th) day following the Termination Date. The first payment will be retroactive to the day following the Termination Date.
