PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The program, co-financed by the EBRD, aims to modernize solid waste management infrastructure and improve stakeholder engagement. Phases 1 and 2 include eight sub-projects covering one-third of the country's municipalities, addressing all stages of waste management: collection, sorting, transport, disposal, and recovery (recycling, energy from landfill biogas). Phase 3 will provide additional funding for existing sub-projects and support the development of new regional waste management center.
