Procedure. (1) A request for authorization to engage in a gainful occupation will be sent on behalf of the member of the family by the diplomatic mission of the sending State to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the receiving State. The request must specify the relation between the member of the family and the member of the diplomatic mission or consular post and the employment for which the authorization is requested. (2) Following verification that the person for whom authorization is requested falls within the categories defined in this Agreement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the receiving State, following the relevant internal procedure, shall immediately notify the diplomatic mission of the sending State that the member of the family has been authorized to work, subject to the relevant legislation of the receiving State. (3) The procedures followed will be applied in a way which enables the member of the family to engage in a gainful occupation as soon as possible and any requirements relating to the work permit will be favorably applied. (4) The authorization shall not apply to the nationals or permanent residents of the receiving State.
