YOT definition

YOT means the Youth Offending Team belonging to local authorities. For the avoidance of doubt, all references to applicable laws and regulations, policies, guidelines, codes of practices and notes in this Specification shall, in each case, include any amendments made from time to time.

Examples of YOT in a sentence

  • The majority of Young People sentenced receive a DTO, half of which is served in custody and half in the community under the supervision of a multi-agency YOT.

  • The YOT should follow the Programme Guidance in determining which interventions to offer.

  • The programme allows flexibility for the YOT to determine which evidence-based interventions will build upon local service delivery and achieve the best outcomes for children.

  • The Authority will request the YOT to provide quarterly financial reporting information and an annual financial reconciliation report at the end of each financial year, in a format we will provide.

  • The Grant will enable the YOT to consistently support a cohort of children not currently on their statutory caseload.

  • All referrals must be screened by the YOT before a child can progress onto the programme.

  • Having spoken to the duty solicitor the Custody Sergeant will inform the YOT/ AA of the new time set for interview.

  • The YOT and Police will at this stage take note of any accommodation/safeguarding issues that may exist for the young person on their release from police custody.

  • The detention and supervision of any young person made subject to a secure remand is the exclusive responsibility of the YOT.

  • The YOT and Police alongside partners will work on resolving accommodation issues at this stage.
