Wye or "Y" means a fitting for a branch on which the spur joins the barrel of the pipe at an angle of approximately 45 degrees.
Wye as used in this section, means the configuration in which one end of each transformer winding is connected to a common point and the other to its appropriate line terminal, resembling the letter "Y".
