Winter Operations definition

Winter Operations means the use of equipment and/or materials to ensure that roadways remain relatively clear of snow and ice, whether prior to or subsequent to any snowfall, including, but not limited to, the application of salt, sand, or like materials and the use of a plow for the removal of snow and ice. Examples of Winter Operations in a sentence

  • Documentation must be provided via email to the ordering district representative and to the State Winter Operations Manager.

  • Only Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved dry and liquid chemicals may be used for de- icing or snow removal on aircraft operating surfaces, as set forth in Advisory Circular 150/5200-30, current edition, or as may be amended, Airport Winter Operations and Safety, Section 4-6 Approved Chemicals, current edition, or as may be amended.

  • This seven-calendar day limitation shall not apply to NDOT employees in districts who bid overtime assignments for Winter Operations in accordance with Appendix D.14.

  • Save and except for Winter Operations; within each section, as defined in this Agreement, senior qualified personnel shall operate vehicles and equipment provided that such senior personnel within their classification are reasonably available at the beginning of the shift.
