Wet bottom definition

Wet bottom means a boiler that has a furnace bottom temperature above the ash melting point and from which the bottom ash is removed as a liquid.
Wet bottom means that the ash is removed from the furnace in a molten state.
Wet bottom means a furnace design in which the coal-fired unit is equipped for slag disposal with a two-stage arrangement consisting of a chamber in the lower part of the furnace where the slag is deposited in a liquid state onto a collection surface, and a tank, containing water, into which the liquid slag is tapped.

Wet bottom means having ash removal from the fur- nace in a molten state. The term ‘‘wet bottom boiler” shall include: wet bottom wall−fired boilers, including wet bottom turbo−fired boilers; and wet bottom boilers otherwise meeting the definition of vertically fired boilers, including wet bottom arch−fired boil- ers, wet bottom roof−fired boilers, and wet bottom top−fired boil- ers. The term ‘‘wet bottom boiler” shall exclude cyclone boilers and tangentially fired boilers.
