Water Efficiency definition

Water Efficiency means controlling water at the source through design—both rainfall and storm water runoff through a decentralized system that distributes storm water across a project site in order to replenish groundwater supplies.
Water Efficiency means using improved technologies and practices that deliver equal or better service with less water. For example, the use of low flow faucet aerators can be more powerful than no aerators for washing hands. “Water conservation” has been associated with curtailment of water use and doing “less” with less water, typically during a water shortage, such as a drought. Examples are minimizing lawn watering and automobile washing in order to conserve water. Water conservation also includes day-to-day “demand management” to better manage how and when water is used, so it is common to hear the words “water conservation” used synonymously with “water efficiency.”
Water Efficiency means minimisation of the amount of waterused to accomplish a function, task or result;

Examples of Water Efficiency in a sentence

  • No development shall take place until a scheme detailing compliance with policy R7 (Low and Zero Carbon Building and Water Efficiency) of the 2017 Aberdeen Local Development Plan has been submitted to and approved in writing by the Planning Authority.

  • Reason: To ensure that the development complies with requirements for reductions in carbon emissions and water efficiency as specified in policy R7 (Low and Zero Carbon Building and Water Efficiency) of the 2017 Aberdeen Local Development Plan.

Related to Water Efficiency

  • Energy efficiency means the ratio of output of performance, service, goods or energy, to input of energy;

  • Sewage sludge weight means the weight of sewage sludge, in dry U.S. tons, including admixtures such as liming materials or bulking agents. Monitoring frequencies for sewage sludge parameters are based on the reported sludge weight generated in a calendar year (use the most recent calendar year data when the NPDES permit is up for renewal).
