Mold can be found almost anywhere and they can grow on virtually anything including wood, paper, carpet, books, food, etc. There is no practical way to eliminate all mold and mold spores. If mold is a problem, you must clean up the mold and eliminate any sources of moisture. Moisture control is the key to mold control. Some people may be affected by Mold. Potential health effects and symptoms of mold exposure may include allergic reaction, asthma, and other respiratory complaints. Ways to control moisture in your home: Fix all plumbing and roof leaks and other sources of water. Reduce indoor humidity to decrease mold growth by: using exhaust fans in bathrooms and kitchens; using air conditioners and dehumidifiers; increasing ventilation; venting dryers and other moisture-generating sources; turning off humidifiers and heaters if you notice condensation on windows and other surfaces. Clean and dry any wet building materials and furnishings within 24-48 hours. Clean mold off of hard surfaces with water and detergent and/or bleach and dry thoroughly.
