Volume 3 definition

Volume 3 means GDOT’s technical provisions entitled “Programmatic Technical Provisions for DB Agreement - Volume 3”.
Volume 3 shall include, ▪ General and particular specifications for all the disciplines of the project divided in sub heads in the same order that of the Bill of Quantities to facilitate easy cross-referencing, which shall cover specifications for all materials and workmanship. The specification for each item shall be based on the standard used by AAM or other standard to the client’s approval and shall clearly cover all equipment and materials, quality control requirements and method statements. The consultant shall use his own source in collecting and preparing the project specification to the required level of standard. He may however utilize the specifications of similar works used on projects of Al Ain Municipality. When it is considered necessary that the specification can be best represented by reference to a product then a minimum of three manufacturers, or equal and approved shall be named. ▪ The use of locally manufactured and approved items shall be preferred as far as they meet the required standards. An option for the client to select such items shall be allowed in the contract.
