Vascular Sonographer definition

Vascular Sonographer means a Sonographer who has completed an accredited vascular or general ASAR qualification and is appointed. Vascular Sonographer Level 1, Grade 1 means person with less than one year of full-time experience. Progression to Level 2 is automatic on completion of one year full-time or equivalent hours. Vascular Sonographer Level 1, Grade 2 means a person with one year of service but less than two years' full time or equivalent hours. Progression to Grade 2 is automatic on the completion of service.

  • A Vascular Sonographer who: • must have at least two (2) years scanning experience, which can include scanning experience as a Trainee Vascular Sonographer; • must include and be already competent and working unsupervised in competencies 1 to 5; and • must reach competency standards as set out below for the relevant Grade 3 level.
