UPOV Convention definition

UPOV Convention means the Acts of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants, as revised up to and including 19 March 1991;
UPOV Convention means the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants done at Paris on 2 December 1961, as amended.

  • The European Union reaffirms its commitment to the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (the UPOV Convention), to which the Republic of Kazakhstan shall make reasonable efforts to accede.

  • The exclusion for plant varieties is limited to those plant varieties that satisfy the definition provided in Article 1(vi) of the UPOV Convention (1991); such definition shall apply mutatis mutandis to animal varieties.

  • Plant varieties The Parties shall cooperate to promote and ensure the protection of plant varieties based on the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (hereinafter referred to as "UPOV Convention"), as revised on 19 March 1991, including the optional exception to the right of the breeder as referred to in Article 15(2) of such Convention.
