Unit Trip definition

Unit Trip means the sudden and immediate removal of the HCPC unit from service as a result of an immediate mechanical/electrical/hydraulic control system trip or operator initiated trip/shutdown which requires HELCO to take immediate steps to place an unscheduled generator on line to make up for the loss of output of the HCPC unit; provided, however, that a unit trip shall not include: (i) any such removal which occurs within 48 hours of the time at which the HCPC unit is restarted following an outage; (ii) trips caused or initiated by HELCO; or (iii) trips occurring during periods when HCPC has continued to furnish capacity to HELCO at the request of HELCO's Production Manager or his designated representative after HCPC has notified HELCO that the HCPC unit is likely to trip.
Unit Trip. The sudden and immediate removal from service of the Facility’s generator as a result of immediate mechanical/electrical/hydraulic control system trips or operator initiated action which causes a similar immediate removal from service or rapid and immediate reduction in power delivery not under control of Company. Removal from service with less than one (1) hour notice to Company shall be deemed sudden and immediate for the purpose of determining a Unit Trip. Unit Trips are also Forced Outages, Immediate (U1) under NERC GADS reporting criteria. For purposes of calculating Liquidated Damages under Section 9.2(C) (Excessive Unit Trips) and the performance requirements under Section 3.2(D)(6) (Unit Trips), Unit Trips shall not include trips caused by Company unless: (1) such trips are caused by the suspension or reduction of electric energy deliveries from the Facility directly resulting from instructions or remote control actions by the Company System Operator in accordance with Section 4.1 (Initiation by Company); or (2) Seller fails to operate the Facility in accordance with Section 3.2(C) (Delivery of Power to Company).

  • In addition, Seller shall provide Company with subsequent written confirmation any ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ experiences a Unit Trip or other unplanned outages or deratings.

  • For each Unit Trip in excess of the limit set forth in Section 3.2(B)(5) (Unit Trips) for the current Contract Year, Seller shall pay Company Liquidated Damages in the amount set forth in the following table (on a progressive basis) upon proper demand at the end of the current Contract Year.

  • In no event shall any trip test conducted pursuant to this Section 3.2B(2) constitute a Unit Trip.

  • Unit Trip Reports, which will be prepared for each Unscheduled Outage and include explanations of the reason for the trip and corrective actions taken to repair equipment as well as any actions taken to prevent a similar trip.

  • Reports will include the date and time of the occurrence as well as the cause of the Unit Trip, deration, or Forced Outage.

  • The Facility shall not trip for an electrical fault or transient condition in Company System of less than thirty six (36) cycles duration, or a resulting trip shall be considered a Unit Trip which shall count towards the number of allowable Unit Trips under Section 3.2(D)(6) (Unit Trips) and shall count against Seller’s availability for both the EAF and EFOR.

  • If the Expansion Facility reports a deration, Forced Outage or Unit Trip, the Seller will provide, within five (5) Business Days thereafter, a report to the Company of the cause, including data to support the conclusion, and actions taken or to be taken to correct the cause.

Unit Trip shall also include (i) a trip of a Facility unit by the Company System Operator if the Company System Operator determines that an adverse condition at the Facility exists that is likely to endanger the safety of persons and/or property, and/or endanger the integrity of the Company System or have an adverse effect on Company customer’s electric service; (ii) a trip of a Facility unit caused by an event outside the Facility through which it should have been expected to remain operating and /or synchronized to the Company System in accordance with Section 3.g (Frequency Requirements) and Section 3.e (Voltage Requirements) of Attachment B (Facility Owned by Seller); or (iii) a trip for an electrical fault or transient condition on the Company System of less than [ ] cycles duration for a three-phase fault located anywhere on the Company System or a trip of less than [ ] cycles duration for a single line to ground fault located anywhere on the Company system in accordance with Section 3.f (Transient Stability Ride-Through) of Attachment B (Facility Owned by Seller).
