Union Time definition

Union Time. The Hospital will provide a total of seventy-two (72) hours in the aggregate per year of designated “Union Time” for six (6) representatives. Union time is defined as non de minimis union business limited to: grievance meetings, disciplinary proceedings and the monitoring and the enforcement of the Agreement. Representatives must clock out and record their time, and will be paid at straight time rates for the first seventy-two (72) hours. Union Time is non-productive and will not be subject to any accruals. Any additional time spent by Union representatives on Union business will be unpaid. Failure to clock out for such time will be subject to discipline. Representatives shall not leave their work area without notifying their immediate supervisor, and shall notify them immediately of their return. Both the Representative and the Union member must obtain permission from their respective supervisors. Supervisors shall not unreasonably withhold permission provided the standards of patient care, patient safety and clinical excellence can be maintained in the representative’s absence. The work schedules of Employees selected as Union representatives shall be adjusted to permit attendance on unpaid time at periodic external Union assembly meetings providing Employer operations shall not be impaired. The representative must give his/her supervisor notice in accordance with the Hospital’s PTO request policy prior to attendance at these meetings. At the end of each calendar year, any unused Union time shall rollover and be available for use by committee members at the next collective bargaining sessions between the Hospital and the union. The amount of Union Time provided by the Hospital will be reviewed after the second year of the Agreement, and the parties will meet and discuss proposed changes to the number of hours paid.
Union Time means a period of time adjacent to an Instructional Course reserved for SEIU 775to make a presentation to its members related to union membership as required under its collective bargaining agreement. For Basic Training Courses, that period will be 30 minutes and for Continuing Education Courses, it will be 15 minutes. APPENDIX 2

Examples of Union Time in a sentence

  • When necessary, the Local Union Time Study Representative shall have access to such Company time study records that are required in the performance of such duties.

  • It is understood and agreed that the services to provide a Local Union Time Study Representative will continue during the term of this agreement as follows: Said representative will be paid by the Company for the time which it is necessary for him/her to lose his/her regular duties, in order to attend Time Study Training Courses jointly approved by the Company and the Union.

  • Upon his/her appointment the Company will then initiate a training program for the said local Union Time Study Representative.

  • At the request of the Union to the Supervisor Industrial Engineering, the local Union Time Study Representative will be excused from his/her regular duties where possible to investigate and study standard grievances, attend meetings that involve violation of standards and attend time study training courses which have been approved by the Company.

  • Each employee shall be allowed to voluntarily contribute any accrued leave, except sick leave, to the Union Time Pool.

  • In addition to the above the Company agrees to pay eight (8) hours per week to cover Union Time off as requested by the President of Local 2027.

  • The result of the standard will be given to the employee involved and the Union Time Study Representative.

  • Employees shall be released from duty on Union Time Pool only if the established needs of the service permit; with the approval of the non-bargaining unit supervisor, but such release shall not be unreasonably denied.

  • The above Union Time Off will not apply during any shutdown period.

  • On April 15 of each year all hours in excess of five hundred (500) not taken shall be contributed to the Union Time Pool.

Related to Union Time

  • Succession Time means, for any Appointment, (a) the Effective Time, if all Authorizations for such Appointment have been received as of that time or (b) if any Authorization for such Appointment has not been received as of the Effective Time, the time that all Authorizations for such Appointment have been received.

  • Discussion Time shall have the meaning ascribed to such term in Section 3.2(f).

  • Resolution Time means 1:00 p.m. New York time on the Local Business Day following the date on which the notice of the dispute is given under Paragraph 5.

  • Separation Time means the close of business on the tenth Trading Day after the earlier of:

  • Valuation Time means the close of business in the city of the Valuation Agent on the Local Business Day before the Valuation Date or date of calculation, as applicable, provided that the calculations of Value and Exposure will be made as of approximately the same time on the same date.

  • Termination Time means the time at which the right to exercise Rights shall terminate pursuant to Section 5.1;

  • Expiration Time has the meaning set forth in Section 3.

  • Execution Time means the date and time that this Agreement is executed and delivered by the parties hereto.

  • Calculation Time means 11:59 p.m. on the day prior to the Closing Date.

  • Down time means the time period when specified services with specified technical and service standards are not available to user(s).

  • Distribution Time means the time at which the Distribution is effective on the Distribution Date.

  • Transformation time means the time difference between a change of concentration or flow (t0) at the reference point and a system response of 50 per cent of the final reading (t50).

  • Scan time means the period of time between the beginning and end of x-ray transmission data accumulation for a single scan.

  • Merger Date means the closing date of a Merger Event or, where a closing date cannot be determined under the local law applicable to such Merger Event, such other date as determined by the Calculation Agent.

  • Notification Time means 11:00 a.m., New York time, on a Local Business Day.

  • Determination Time in relation to a Distribution Date means on or about 11.00am Sydney time 1 Business Day prior to that Distribution Date.

  • COMPLETION TIME means the period by ‘date/month’ specified in the ‘Letter of Intent/Award’ or date mutually agreed upon for handing over of the intended scope of work, the erected equipment/plant which are found acceptable by the Engineer, being of required standard and conforming to the specifications of the Contract.

  • Up time means the time period when specified services with specified technical and service standards are available to user(s)

  • Merger Closing Date the Closing Date (as defined in the Merger Agreement).

  • Offer Closing Date has the meaning set forth in Section 1.01(f).

  • Scheduled operation time means the scheduled operating hours of the System for the month. All planned downtime on the system would be deducted from the total operation time for the month to give the scheduled operation time.

  • Exchange Time means the time at which the right to exercise the Rights shall terminate pursuant to Section 3.1(c) hereof.

  • Transfer Time has the meaning set forth in Section 4.3(a).

  • non-business day means Saturday, Sunday and any other day that is a holiday as defined in the Interpretation Act (Canada);

  • Acquisition Date With respect to any REO Property, the first day on which such REO Property is considered to be acquired by the Trust Fund within the meaning of Treasury Regulations Section 1.856-6(b)(1), which is the first day on which the Trust Fund is treated as the owner of such REO Property for federal income tax purposes.

  • Near Real Time means that Qwest's OSS electronically receives a transaction from CLEC, automatically processes that transaction, returns the response to that transaction to CLEC in an automatic event driven manner (without manual intervention) via the interface for the OSS function in question. Except for the time it takes to send and receive the transaction between Qwest's and CLEC's OSS application, the processing time for Qwest's representatives should be the same as the processing time for CLEC's representatives. Current benchmarks using TCIF 98-006 averages between two (2) and four (4) seconds for the connection and an average transaction transmittal. The specific agreed metrics for Near Real Time transaction processing will be contained in the Performance Indicator Definitions (PIDs), where applicable. "Network Element" is a facility or equipment used in the provision of Telecommunications Service. It also includes features, functions, and capabilities that are provided by means of such facility or equipment, including subscriber numbers, databases, signaling systems, and information sufficient for Billing and collection or used in the transmission, routing, or other provision of a Telecommunications Service.
