Uniformed definition

Uniformed means a member of staff whose employment terms are conditioned under the National Joint Council for Local Authority Fire and Rescue Services Scheme of Conditions of Service (the “Grey Book”) OR the National Joint Council for Brigade Managers of Fire and Rescue Services Constitution and Scheme and Conditions of Service (the “Gold Book”) as appropriate.

  • This section applies only to Groups who must offer continuation coverage under the applicable provisions of the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA), as amended, or the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) and only applies to grant continuation of coverage rights to the extent required by federal law.

  • For the purpose of this plan, a “catastrophic occurrence” is defined as any event that would qualify the employee for a leave under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), other local, state, or federally protected leave, and other extraordinary circumstances as determined by the Human Resources Director or designee.

  • To be eligible for this benefit, you must be under the age of 65 and be a member of either the Public Service Pension Plan or the Uniformed Services Pension Plan.

  • The Uniformed Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA) allows you to continue your coverage under this plan while you are on military leave.

  • All retired employees who are receiving a pension from either the Public Service Pension Plan or the Uniformed Services Pension Plan may elect to continue coverage.

  • The Uniformed Service Shared Leave Pool (USSLP) was created so that state employees who are called to service in the uniformed services will be able to maintain a level of compensation and employee benefits consistent with the amount they would have received had they remained in active state service.

  • Eligible employees are also entitled to the reemployment and benefit rights as further described in the Uniformed Services and Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, 38 U.S.C. Sections 4301-4333.

  • Employers are responsible to ensure compliance with state and federal laws regarding leaves of absence, including the California Family Rights Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act, and Labor Code requirements for Medical Disability.

  • Leave for military personnel will be handled in accordance with The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA).

  • To be eligible for this benefit, you must be a member of either the Public Service Pension Plan or the Uniformed Services Pension Plan.
