Uncontrolled release definition

Uncontrolled release means a release of material to the environment that was unplanned, due to failure to secure radioactive material, equipment failure, human error, or a severe event such as fire, flood, or storm.
Uncontrolled release means showing no signs of inhibition, unrestrained. To constitute an uncontrolled release the environmental authority holder must demonstrate that practicable and reasonable measures have been undertaken to prevent the release.
