station yard means the station area which lies within the specified place and/or specified distance (as prescribed by Railway Board) at either ends of the station, and shall include all points, crossings, running and non running lines falling within this area. The approaches of station yard shall be on a grade not steeper than the permissible gradient unless so approved by Railway Board;
