Type II facility definition

Type II facility means a local detention facility used for the detention of persons pending arraignment, during trial, and upon a sentence of commitment.
Type II facility means a facility the plans of which were approved by the department as a facility regulated under ch. H 30, 31 or 32, or under ch. HSS 3 or 132, on or after January 23, 1968, or which was approved as a public institution serving people with developmental disabilities under ch. H 34 after November 1, 1972, or which applies for approval on or after July 1, 1988, including new construction, an addition to an existing licensed facility and major remodeling, alteration or conversion of a facil- ity.
Type II facility means a facility used for disposing of residential and/or commercial solid waste (e.g., a landfill, surface impoundment, or landfarm). If the facility is used for disposing of industrial solid waste, it is also a Type I facility.

  • At least 10 days prior to commencing construction of a liner, leak-detection system, leachate-collection system, or monitoring well at a Type I or Type II facility, the permit holder shall notify the Office of Environmental Services, in writing, of the date on which construction will begin, in order to allow a representative of the department the opportunity to witness the construction.
