Engineering controls means constructed containment barriers or systems that control one or more of the following: downward migration, infiltration, or seepage of surface runoff or rain; or natural leaching migration of contaminants through the subsurface over time. Examples include caps, engineered bottom barriers, immobilization processes, and vertical barriers.
Interim controls means a set of measures designed to temporarily reduce human exposure or likely exposure to lead-based paint hazards, including specialized cleaning, repairs, maintenance, painting, temporary containment, ongoing monitoring of lead-based paint hazards or potential hazards, and the establishment and operation of management and resident education programs.
Controls for purposes hereof means that a person or entity has the power, direct or indirect, to conduct or govern the policies of another person or entity.
Export Controls means all applicable export and reexport control Laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations maintained by the U.S. Department of Commerce, trade and economic sanctions maintained by OFAC and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations maintained by the U.S. Department of State and any applicable anti-boycott compliance regulations.
Internal Controls for districts means processes designed and im- plemented by districts to provide reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of objectives in the following categories:
Internal appeal means a review by an insurer of an adverse benefit determination made
System means all computer hardware and software, equipment, network facilities and other resources and facilities needed to enable you to use an Electronic Service.
Institutional Controls or “ICs” shall mean Proprietary Controls and state or local laws, regulations, ordinances, zoning restrictions, or other governmental controls or notices that: (a) limit land, water, or other resource use to minimize the potential for human exposure to Waste Material at or in connection with the Site; (b) limit land, water, or other resource use to implement, ensure non-interference with, or ensure the protectiveness of the RA; and/or (c) provide information intended to modify or guide human behavior at or in connection with the Site.
External Account is your account at another financial institution (i) to which you are transferring funds from your Eligible Transaction Account; or (ii) from which you are transferring funds to your Eligible Transaction Account.
Internal Procedures means in respect of the making of any one or more entries to, changes in or deletions of any one or more entries in the register at any time (including without limitation, original issuance or registration of transfer of ownership) the minimum number of the Warrant Agent’s internal procedures customary at such time for the entry, change or deletion made to be complete under the operating procedures followed at the time by the Warrant Agent, it being understood that neither preparation and issuance shall constitute part of such procedures for any purpose of this definition;
Systems has the meaning set forth in Section 8.2(a).
Reliability means the degree of performance of the bulk electric system that results in electricity being delivered within Reliability Standards and in the amount desired. Electric system Reliability can be addressed by considering two basic and functional aspects of electric systems, which are Adequacy and Security.
Proprietary Controls means easements or covenants running with the land that (a) limit land, water, or other resource use and/or provide access rights and (b) are created pursuant to common law or statutory law by an instrument that is recorded in the appropriate land records office.
Internal Auditor means the person employed or engaged by the Corporation to perform the internal audit function of the Corporation;
Technological safeguards means the technology and the policy and procedures for use of the technology to protect and control access to personal information.
Alarm means to cause fear of danger of physical harm; and
Data Safeguards means the highest industry-standard safeguards (including administrative, physical, technical, and procedural safeguards) against the destruction, loss, misuse, unauthorized disclosure, or alteration of the JBE data or Confidential Information, and such other related safeguards that are set forth in applicable laws, regulations, and guidance, a statement of Work, or pursuant to JBE policies or procedures.
External Auditor as used here shall mean any registered public accounting firm engaged for the purpose of preparing or issuing an audit report or performing other audit, review or attest services for the Company. Each such external auditor shall report directly to the Committee. With respect to the external auditor, the Committee shall:
Assurance means any warranty, representation, statement, assurance, covenant, agreement, undertaking, indemnity, guarantee or commitment of any nature whatsoever;
external borders means external borders as defined in point 2 of Article 2 of Regulation (EU) 2016/399;
dwarfism means a medical or genetic condition resulting in an adult height of 4 feet 10 inches (147 centimeters) or less;
internal waters means any navigable river or waterway within the State of California.
Physical Safeguards are physical measures, policies, and procedures to protect CONTRACTOR’s electronic information systems and related buildings and equipment, from natural and environmental hazards, and unauthorized intrusion.
Technical safeguards means the technology and the policy and procedures for its use that 27 protect electronic PHI and control access to it.
Internal audit means an independent appraisal activity established within a state agency as a control system to examine and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of other internal control systems within the agency.
fire hydrant means a fire‑plug or fixed pillar hydrant;
