Tomography means the reconstruction of a compre- hensive model (of something) from many partial cross- sections or slices, each of which provides only a limited view that may be useless by itself. Tomographic tech- niques are distinguished by their aspiration to construct a comprehensive model for a system or component, by fitting that model to the data from many independent ex- periments. Quantum tomographic methods include state tomography [5–17], process tomography [18–32], detector or measurement tomography [108–112], Hamiltonian to- mography [113–124] and GST.
