Title IX complaint definition

Title IX complaint means a formal signed complaint from a cur- rent student, applicant, employee, or person participating in or seek- ing to participate in a university program or activity, or by the Ti- tle IX coordinator, alleging sexual harassment, sexual assault, domes- tic violence, dating violence, or stalking for the conduct that occur- red on university premises, during a university program or activity within the United States, or at a building owned or controlled by a student organization that is officially recognized by the university. A complaint of sexual misconduct or interpersonal violence will only be considered a Title IX complaint under this code if it meets this definition. Sexual misconduct or interpersonal violence may still be addressed under this code if it does not meet the definition of a Ti- tle IX complaint.

Examples of Title IX complaint in a sentence

  • When a Title IX complaint or an allegation of a Title IX violation is received by the College, any resulting Title IX investigation has priority over any related investigation or discipline under the Agreement.

  • Where the College is legally required to investigate an alleged violation of Title IX complaint, the matter will be referred to the College’s Title IX Coordinator for investigation and/or action as provided by Title IX.

  • Any person who alleges sexual harassment by any employee or student in the school corporation may use the complaint procedure in the policy or may complain directly to his or her immediate supervisor, building principal, or the Title IX complaint designer of the school corporation.
