Temporary abandonment definition

Temporary abandonment means the status of a well that is inactive.
Temporary abandonment means, for purposes only of compliance with requirements herein, that a well is to be considered temporarily abandoned when it has not been used for six (6) consecutive months and cannot be operated, whether because it was drilled as a dry hole or has ceased to produce, or operations have not been conducted thereon, or for some other reasons; provided, however, such definition shall not be construed to require the plugging of a well that has been approved for future utility by the Commission. The operator of a temporarily abandoned well shall submit a letter to the Commission every six (6) months to describe the future utility of such well.
Temporary abandonment means the work required to plug and abandon the existing open perforations in a well and set a balanced cement plug in the tubing and annulus primarily to secure the well and, in doing so, significantly reduce liability related to well control and related pollution.

Temporary abandonment means the condition in which water service to a building has been discontinued at the owner’s request for a period of less than one year, or a water service to a building that has been discontinued at the owner’s request for more than a year but the owner has made a commitment regarding possible future use.
