Symptomatic Office Visit definition
Symptomatic Office Visit. A symptomatic office visit is an encounter associated with the presentation of medical symptoms or signs, but not requiring immediate attention. Teletypewriter (TTY) – a teleprinter, an electronic device for text communication over a telephone line, that is designed for use by persons with hearing or speech difficulties. Another name for the device is teletypewriter (TTY). Treating Provider – Someone who provides or has provided clinical treatment or evaluation to the Enrollee and who has, or has had, an ongoing treatment relationship with the Enrollee within the past (twelve) 12 months. Generally, an ongoing treatment relationship is considered to be when the clinical evidence establishes that the Enrollee sees, or has seen, the provider with a frequency consistent with accepted clinical practice for the type of treatment, evaluation and/or service required for clinical need(s). Treating Providers include primary care physicians, specialists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, counselors, and therapists. Treating Providers are not those who provide services that are non-clinical in nature like chore services or provide only routine preventative care like preventive dental.
