Swelling definition

Swelling means a condition caused by the intrusion of water into the individual clay particles.
Swelling means a visible change in shape of a board, fascia, or handrail, such that it is enlarged by more than three eighths of an inch (3/8”) in length or more than one-eighth of an inch (1/8”) in width. Boards, handrails, or fascia that touch each other or a structure without satisfying the foregoing criteria are not Swelling.
