Superstore means a business establishment that
Superstore means a retail store with more than 90,000 gross square feet of floor area and more than 10% gross floor area devoted to the sale of non-taxable merchandise. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the term “superstore” shall exclude wholesale clubs or other establishments selling primarily bulk merchandise and charging membership dues or otherwise restricting merchandise sales to customers paying a periodic assessment or fee.
Superstore means a business establishment engaged in retail sales to the general public, with a sales floor area that exceeds one hundred fifty thousand (150,000) square feet and that designates more than fifteen percent (15%) of the total sales floor area to the sale of nontaxable merchandise. Discount club stores, where users pay a membership fee in order to shop, containing a wide variety of items such as food, clothing, tires and appliances, and selling many items in large quantities or bulk, are exempted from the definition of “superstore.”
