supernumerary post definition
supernumerary post means a post created for a limited period to accommodate a Government employee with retrospective effect when no regular post is available. It may or may not involve financial liability in the shape of pay and allowances involved in the creation of such post. It shall stand abolished as soon as the Government employee vacates it by way of promotion, retirement or otherwise on availability of vacancy in that cadre;
