Substandard housing definition

Substandard housing means, in addition to the conditions described in Section 15.32.030.C.1 through 17, that one (1) or more of the following conditions or defects are present in a dwelling unit, guest room, suite of rooms or the premises on which the same are located, which are ordinarily and customarily used for human habitation, to the extent that the life, limb, health, safety or property of the occupants or the public are in danger.
Substandard housing means any house that does not meet the definition of standard housing condition in this part.
Substandard housing means any housing unit lacking complete plumbing or sanitary facilities for the exclusive use of the occupants; or any housing unit which has been found by an appropriate local authority to have one or more violations of an applicable housing code that poses a material threat to the health or safety of the occupant; or any housing unit that has been declared unfit for human habitation; or any housing unit that has been found to be substandard in the most recent housing conditions survey conducted by the local government, done in conjunction with the local comprehensive plan or otherwise, provided that there is no evidence that this dwelling has since been rehabilitated.

  • Elderly Housing means housing intended for and only occupied by Elderly persons including a family in which all members are Elderly. All household members must be Elderly (no children, and no disabled persons under the age of 62).

  • Workforce housing means owner-occupied or rental housing units that are provided to households with at least one member per unit who is gainfully employed at the time of entry into the unit.

  • Coastal high hazard area means a Special Flood Hazard Area extending from offshore to the inland limit of a primary frontal dune along an open coast and any other area subject to high velocity wave action from storms or seismic sources. The area is designated on a FIRM, or other adopted flood map as determined in Article 3, Section B of this ordinance, as Zone VE.

  • Emergency housing means temporary indoor accommodations for individuals or families who are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless that is intended to address the basic health, food, clothing, and personal hygiene needs of individuals or families. Emergency housing may or may not require occupants to enter into a lease or an occupancy agreement.

  • Residential housing or "Residence" means a single-family, owner-occupied dwelling located within the State that qualifies for financing by the Authority within the meaning of the Act, the Rules and Regulations, the Code and related regulations.
