Student Dependent definition

Student Dependent means: a) A Dependent Child who: (1) Is related to the Subscriber in a manner described in Section 2.3A; (2) Has not provided more than one-half of his or her own support for the previous Calendar Year; (3) Is student dependent; and (4) Is over the Limiting Age for Dependent children but under the Limiting Age for Student Dependents, as stated in the Eligibility Schedule; and b) Is a Dependent Child whose attendance at a public or private high school, college, university, graduate school, trade school, or other school meets the institution’s requirements for full-time status; or c) Is an eligible Dependent Child who is originally enrolled as a full-time student and becomes unable, due to a documented medical condition to continue as a full-time student. Coverage will continue for a period of twelve (12) months from the date the Dependent Child ceases to be a full-time student or until the Dependent Child attains the Limiting Age for Student Dependents as stated in the Eligibility Schedule, whichever is earlier. A Dependent child’s status as a full-time student shall be determined in accordance with the criteria specified by the institution in which the Dependent Child is enrolled. CareFirst BlueChoice may require verification of the medical condition from the Dependent child’s treating health care provider, a disability services professional employed by the institution that the Dependent Child attends, or a health care provider with special expertise in and knowledge of the medical condition.
Student Dependent means Dependent Child who is eligible due beyond the Limiting Age for Dependent Children as defined in Section 2.4 of this [In-Network] Evidence of Coverage.] Subscriber means a Member who is enrolled as an eligible employee or eligible former eligible employee rather than as a Dependent.
